2 TYPES of CHURCH VOLUNTEERS

I RECENTLY REALIZED that there are at least 2 TYPES of CHURCH VOLUNTEERS...
1) there are those volunteers who do so truly for the love of the body of Christ, and because of their gratitude for God's grace, etc...& then           2) there are those who are doing it to rise up the "ladder" or the pyramid..and therefore they see non-volunteers, those of us who merely attend church as lower than them on the ladder, while they see the pastor et al above them on the ladder; then.

You immediately know when you are encountering a #1 or #2 volunteer. With a #1 volunteer you feel as if they truly are glad to see you and welcome you, and are not looking "down" on you but as a fellow brother or sister in Christ.

with a #2 volunteer you feel as if you are lucky they let you in the door, and you feel obliged to follow the "rules' of  worship etc rather than worship out of the goodness of your heart and the inspiration of the moment. they take some of the joy of being there out of the equation and make you feel enslaved.
