3/24/16 pray for Byron McDonald at rolling hills covenant church

...i go to this church in palos verdes periodically...Byron has been there a long time ...fairly nice disposition...seems like this church has good attendance..nice sanctuary, soft seats-hi backs...good infrastructure..one thing Byron does a little too much is "travel-dropping"...every time I go there and hear his sermon, he always talks about long-distance world trips he has taken as part of a mission trip of some sort...; i've done some of that myself, and a lot of those trips is actually very comfortable, even to the poor parts of the world. That's not to say it's not a good and noble thing to do, but it's not a hardship either. In fact it can be very nice. At least I hope he doesn't fly first class as some pastors do. If so , there's no hardship whatsoever. Flying coach is the only thing that makes some of these long trips a hardship. Also, he's anti-Catholic, or at least takes on the "marianist" aspects of catholicism...believing that catholics "worship" Mary or "idolize" mary, albeit catholics will come back with a rebuttal of saying that they are actually petitioning Mary and the saints  for intercessory prayer...believing their prayers are more powerful because they are closer to God by reason of their living more holy lives, and of course they are with GOd in heaven now. On the other hand, probably too many catholics don't know the teachings of the church very well, and with all the kneeling and genuflecting before the cross and before the images or statues of Mary, they may believe they are worshipping Mary alongside God and Jesus. That's a problem the Catholic church must contend with, even if they teach otherwise.
